Combat the Winter Blues

This is the time of year when we are all shifting to a spring/summer mindset. Winter tv shows are wrapping up, the days are getting longer and the sun is calling us, but the weather isn't quite cooperating yet. What can we do to change things up and prepare for the shorts, flip flops, barbque and sunglasses that are to come?

Change up your hairstyle

Ready for a new outlook but not ready for a huge commitment? Change up your part. Usually part down the middle? Part your hair on the side. Usually straighten your hair? Try a few wand curls and watch the volume change your day! Usually curl your hair or let it do it's thing? Try straightening it.

Add a few strategically placed highlights

Just a few lighter balayage pieces around the face will brighten your eyes and smile. Blonde doesn't go well with your complexion? No problem, lighter doesn't always mean blonde:)

Ready for a big change?

Cut it off! Don't do this without doing your research. Look at styles and cuts on Pinterest. Just pin the ones you like. Then, go back and really look at what you picked. Do you like the color? The layers? The texture? How different is it from what you currently have? Once you know what you like and have an idea of what you want, schedule an appointment and have a consultation with your stylist. She will be able to discuss your face shape and your styling habits and the products needed for the look.

Change the color! Are you a brunette that has always wondered if blondes really do have more fun? Have you always wondered what your hair would look like if it was your neighbors fiery red? If you're ready to take the plunge, this is the time to do it!

Moisturize

Wind, sun, and dry days are a staple in this area. All three of these drastically dry out your hair and skin. For perfect summer looks, moisturization is key.

Hair

Check in with your haircare routine. What products are you currently using? Are you using the correct shampoo and conditioner for your hair? Are you getting professional hair treatments on a regular basis? How are you putting moisture back into your hair? Are you using a product that protects your hair from UV rays? If you blow dry, straighten or curl your hair are you using a heat protectant?

Skin

Are your arms ready for tank top season? Have you shown your legs some love this winter? Are your feet flip flop ready? Is it time for a pedicure? Try a paraffin treatment. Paraffin is great for moisturizing, pain relief and as a barrier between you and the elements.

Who is ready for long days and gorgeous nights?
