Frequently Asked Questions
Your curls deserve more than a quick snip. Your first visit is about understanding how your hair works, what it needs, and how to achieve consistent results at home. That's why initial appointments include personalized education, a full consultation, and customized care. Once we've laid that foundation, you'll be able to book à la carte services like haircuts anytime.
I work inside Hair for You Salon, located at 6401 Indiana Avenue, Lubbock, TX 79413.
Please come to your appointment with clean, dry hair that has been styled down for at least the last 24 hours. Most people wash their hair the night before or the day of their appointment. Use as few styling products as you can depending on your lifestyle and schedule for the day of. Do NOT use any stiff or sticky gels, mousses or sprays. I must be able to see how your hair lays naturally in order to give you a balanced haircut.
I am certified in various curly cutting and coloring techniques. Some professional brands advocate for wet cutting, while others prefer dry cutting. Each method has its purpose and end result. I typically cut most types of curly hair dry, but it ultimately depends on the look you want to achieve!
I carry and use Innersense Organic Beauty products in the salon. I love these products because they work well for curly hair, and I can help troubleshoot any issues since I know the line well. However, the Uninhibited Curls method is not based on any single brand of products, techniques, or treatments. I teach you why we need certain products, which ingredients to look for and avoid, and the system will work as long as you stay within those parameters, regardless of the brand you choose. So, no, you are not required to purchase products from me.
I offer targeted treatments designed specifically for curly hair, depending on what your curls are asking for. This includes:
Deep Conditioning Treatments – for moisture and softness
Scalp Treatments – to soothe irritation, remove buildup, and promote healthy growth
Detox Treatments – to clarify the hair and reset product-heavy curls
Bond-Building Treatments – to repair and strengthen damaged or color-treated curls
Hydration Boosts – for dry, brittle curls that need elasticity and shine
Curl Reset Treatments – a full reset experience including scalp exfoliation, clarifying cleanse, detox, and both protein + moisture rebalancing
These services help keep your curls thriving between appointments and are tailored to your specific needs at the time of your visit.

Although I can't see everything you do, I do have the ability to see your participation in the events, comments on the trainings, curl question submissions and other views on some online forums. If you have not participated in any online trainings, had an in salon appointment with me, or been active in my community in about 6-9 months, I might remove you from the community as then you will not be considered a current client.
I currently accept debit cards, credit cards, cash, Apple Pay, After Pay and PayPal.
Proof of identity may be required for credit/debit card acceptance.
You can absolutely bring a drink or snack with you if you want to. I love Dr Pepper, by the way:)
Bring all of the products you currently use, or bring a photo of them where the ingredients can be clearly read.
Please make arrangements for small children before your appointment. Life is crazy and sometimes we need to bring them with us, but the salon is a very dangerous place for children and you and I will be engaged so you will not be able to care for them very well.
In order to continue providing the best possible service to my guests, I will not allow any clients' late arrival to affect another guest in my business. I appreciate you being 5 minutes early for your appointment. If you are 10 minutes or more late, I will reschedule your appointment and a fee of $50 may be due before your next appointment is reserved. If you are 1-10 minutes late, a fee of $10 will be added to your service ticket. If I am running 1-10 minutes late, I will discount your service by $10. This policy allows me to always have plenty of time to serve my guests thoroughly and will ensure I am always running on time for you at each visit.
In order to continue providing the best possible scheduling options to my guests, I require 36 hours notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your visit with me. Should you cancel your appointment with less than 36 hours notice or fail to show up for a scheduled appointment, a $50 fee applies and will be due before a new appointment can be scheduled. Your payment may be made by credit card over the phone or I can send you a virtual invoice. Once you've paid the cancellation fee, I will remove the restriction placed on your account and you'll be able to secure your next appointment. Please note, I am generally booked out three or more weeks so you will have to wait sometime to get scheduled back on my calendar. You will receive a text message reminder 48 hours before your appointment, giving you a 12 hour window to cancel or reschedule your appointment and not be in violation of the cancellation policy.
