What Products does Lori recommend?

The number 2 question I get from new clients is "How do I know which products I need?" ( The number 1 question is "How do I get rid of frizz?" And I have the answer to that too!)
Today I want to tell you all about products and a few tips on how to navigate purchasing them.
First, not all products work the way hairspray does. When we use hairspray, we get the hair the way we like it, then use the product, and it stays that way. It is really common for people to think.....when I scrunch my wet hair, it curls or waves a little. So I'm going to scrunch my hair, put a little gel or mousse in my hand, scrunch it up from the ends, and then it will stay that way! ..............
Nope. That's not how it works. Whenever you are using a leave in, lotion, cream, mousse, custard or gel, you need to make sure you are applying it all over your head, from roots to ends.
These products are all performing a task. Maybe to fill in porous holes, maybe to create a seal, maybe to be a missing link or patch to damaged hair. The jobs and products vary from person to person depending on the hair history and lifestyle.
One of the reasons my Learn, Cut & Treat is such a long (hence more expensive) appointment is because we dive deep into all the products, what information you need to be looking for when choosing them, what their tasks could possibly be and different ways we would apply them based on the task we want them to perform.
I know you have heard there are some ingredients we don't want to have in our products when we have curly hair. No sulfates, silicones, parabens, BPA's, perfumes, alcohols etc.
True. The problem is putting that into action in the real world where, in America, whatever stores you go to, you have the same products and brands to choose from. Another problem is that the manufacturers of hair products that are easily available don't care if they use these ingredients or not. Finding a product (let alone 4 or 5) that fits these parameters is difficult.
THEN, when we find them, those products don't perform very well!!! How frustrating is it that we as consumers have to choose between products that have bad ingredients but do the job they are supposed to do OR we can buy products without all those ingredients but they DON"T WORK!!!

If you have wavy or curly hair that straightens out as the days go on, I might add I Create Lift - a foam- on top of the other products right before diffusing.
